We've got a lot of retro fans on here and I know many of us have been lapping up the SEGA collections this year. But are there still some people want to see or possibly want to see some other companies jump on the bandwagon and release collections of bygone series.

I for one am sitting with fingers crossed for a Shining Force Collection from SEGA, closely followed by Disney jumping on the band wagon and doing collections for either the many Megadrive era film tie-in games such as Aladdin or Lion King or even better the Mickey Mouse illusion series too.

I've been pestering Sega on twitter for ages about doing a Sonic collection, but not the mega drive games......a collection of the ones for the Master System. The games were very different to the 16-bit versions with unique zones in some cases...and in the case of Sonic Chaos made for 8-bit systems only.

There's loads of stuff I'd like to see re-done on XBLA, such as Mickey Mouse Castle Of Illusion and Donald Duck's Quack Shot, The Thunderforce series of Shooters, Space Harrier, The list is Endless. I don't mind too much though as I'm slowly building up my retro collection and hope to own all my faves again in original form. I've just picked up 17 Megadrive games on Gumtree for 15 quid which is retro heaven for me! Yeay!

What Would be good though is a load of re-imaginings of home computer games from the Commodore 64 and Amiga eras as. I'm only collecting console stuff so, it'd be good to revisit those in modern form in some way, although I do fire up the old emulators from time to time......

The list is pretty much endless for me aswell, though I would really like SEGA to release some more, particularly Knuckles Chaotix. It's a very hard game to come by and hasn't been re-released on compilation discs like many other SEGA and Sonic games. Many people missed out on this game but would love to play it (myself included) so surely even from a business point of view it would be a great move by SEGA? they could perhaps release it for 400MSP on it's own like the did with the Model 2 games, or in a collection with a couple of other Snic spinoffs.

The set including Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma would also be greatly appreciated.

Cannon Fodder - I loved this game and didn't think it was all too popular until recently, many people actually seem to think highly of this game and would love a re-release

Then of course some big names like Megaman or Castlevania collections.

lastly, Panzer Dragoon would be good and maybe Shenmue, those are quite recent but still.

Many others I have considered but these are some of the ones that stand out most from a business point of view - potential big sellers.

I really want Sunset Riders on XBLA. Not sure what it could go with in a collection, but whatever it came with I'd probably buy it just for the one game.

I'd also like to see Greendog make another appearance. I'm not even sure why I liked Greendog so much to be honest...

I would also welcome Landstalker, purely out of intrigue as it's supposed to be good but I never bought it first time round.

However, what is SEGA's deal with the Vintage collections and online play? Streets of Rage is awesome, and I bought the Collection so I could co-op with my mate who is also a big fan of SoR, but then we find out that achievements are disabled in online play. I hear the same is true for Toejam and Earl. Sure I'll still play the games, but it annoys me when something like this happens - why make it this way?

Shenmue is also planned for release but not sure when.

I loved Landstalker personally adn would love to see it return possibly along with Story of Thor or whatever the other title for it was. Actually Toki - Ape spit was pretty awesome too!

Shocked

Was "Ape Spit" really part of the title for that? I've never heard that before, and I could swear my box just says "Toki" on it...

Going to have to dig that one out to have a look! Smile

EDIT: Ok just Googled it. Fair enough, how have I never noticed that? Rolling Eyes

Probably doesn't help that they did the title in those horrific colours actually!

You can buy Landstalker on steam for £1 Laughing loved the game back in the day. You reckon they'll make like a Vintage Collection game eventually? like what they done with the megadrive collection. Like most of us old skool gamers my list for returns will prolly be endless as well xD but um, I'd like to see the 2 rocket knight games come back. The XBLA reimagining was a bit disappointing in my eyes. Alien Soldier and Strider would be awesome to bring back too. Razz -holds off rant- Here's hoping eh ^^
