Skylanders
I've been intrigued by this for quite awhile but has anyone here actually played it and what do they think?

Re: Skylanders
I've resisted it, as I'm the kind of person that will end up having to get all the figures as well.

Re: Skylanders
I don't know much about this other than the fact that my three year old nephews absolutely love it seems quite pricey though once you factor in buying the figures and stuff as well as the game, they will make a killing off this over christmas I reckon

Re: Skylanders
Sadly I have this game and have actually been quite enjoying it. I have also amassed a large collection of the figures, but that's me just being a hoarder I think. I wouldnt go into it thinking it to be amazing but for a kids game its pretty fun. You can get the 1000g with the guys who come in the starter pack so I wouldn't worry about it being too pricey. Plays like a dumbed down dungeon crawler.

Re: Skylanders
I was talking to my sister about this after not really knowing what it all was. She bought my nephews it for Xmas and since then she's bought 3 giant characters and 13 smaller ones. I thought they had quiet a good collection and was slightly impressed till she told me how much they cost and it seems like the biggest scam I've seen in years. So obviously they are kids so not interested in achievements they just enjoy the game. And apparently you need certain characters to do certain things. So she's been buying them characters every time they've needed one for something. It's £18 for a giant character and they have 3. £8.50-£9.50 for the normal ones and she has 13. As a rough guess thats about £180 I think. On toys for ONE games. And all you do with them is put them onto another piece of plastic. I really don't understand it. I know it's her own fault for buying em and she's finally started realising how much of a scam it is. But she could have just bought em another console or a 3ds with that money. It's not far of from a wii U either. Just felt like ranting about it :p

Re: Skylanders
Finished this game last night.... I did end up with a large collection but its only as much of a scam as you allow it to be.. As you can gain the whole 1000g from the starter pack its fine if your an achievement hunter... Its just quite fun to try out the other characters. But I mainly bought them second hand off of ebay so spent next to nothing on the collection

Re: Skylanders
I've been enjoying this immensely over the past few days. Got about a dozen figures so far.
Just hit a glitched achievement. Seems fixable with a bit of effort though.

I've been getting regular figures from the likes of Amazon and shopto from about £5. Giants between 12 and 15 quid.

Re: Skylanders
My crafty little brother told me these work on the portal whilst still in the box. He takes them back to the shop/sends back to Amazon once he is done with them...

Re: Skylanders
I've got to admit I've been intrigued by this for a while. All this talk about it makes me feel like I need to keep my eye out for the first one on the cheap!

Re: Skylanders
There's a new game been announced, Skylanders Swap Force, which will have figures that all have mix-and-match parts. However, in a move that is not like Activision at all (sarcasm) these new figures are apparently so advanced they'll require a new portal.
