Persona 4 Arena Empty Persona 4 Arena

This is quite a surprise release for Xbox. The Persona RPG series has been very much a PS exclusive and so when they announced a spin-off fighting game based in the same world it seemed bizarre to release it on Xbox too. But nonetheless here it is. Essentially the Personas are super versions of a bunch of teenagers who can be summoned at will to fight against each other. In Arena the characters have been lured back to the Midnight Channel which they had shut down in a previous game and now must battle between themselves to survive. Confused? Me too but I've never played a Persona game so that's probably why. I have doubts of how much a success this is, but if it is it may lead to ports of the other Persona games so you never know!

ATLUS, a brand of Index Digital Media, Inc., today released highly anticipated news and an all-new E3 trailer for Persona®4 Arena™, the fighting spinoff of the award-winning Persona series of roleplaying games. The publisher also today finalized a release date, announcing Persona 4 Arena will launch in North America on August 7th for Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.

Addressing an oft-repeated question from fans, the publisher confirmed that the North American release of Persona 4 Arena would include both the original Japanese voice work and an all-new English audio track, a feature easily toggled in the settings for both the PS3 and Xbox 360 system releases.

"While it remains a feature we are unable to add in every one of our releases due to any number of factors, we are incredibly excited to be able to offer our fans the frequently requested dual language option in as highly anticipated a title as Persona 4 Arena," commented Tim Pivnicny, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at ATLUS. "Persona 4 Arena represents one of the biggest investments in ATLUS history, in addition to one of the most ambitious collaborations with a developer as esteemed as Arc System Works, and as such we have spared no expense in endeavoring to ensure that the final North American release lives up to our proud tradition of quality and to our fans' lofty expectations for us."

ATLUS also today released a new video of the game, aptly titled "E3 Trailer," which shows off a wealth of gameplay footage and more looks at the title's beautifully drawn and animated roster of fighters, fast-paced yet surprisingly deep mechanics, and gorgeous special effects and set pieces.

Persona 4 Arena is scheduled to release in North America on August 7th for Xbox 360 and PS3 systems. For more information, visit [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
