Super Meat Boy - mini review Banner1ir

Name of Game: Super Meat Boy
Style of Game: 2D platformer

Graphics: Suited well to the game, 2D visuals on a themed backdrop.

Sound: Fantastic musical score by Danny Baranowsky. Retro style and dynamic to every in-game situation.

Difficulty: Main game – easy, post-game content (extra/dark worlds) – medium to hard, free DLC level packs – hard to formidable.

Achievements: Any gamer should be able to clear the main game with enough perseverance; a couple of achievements such as 100% and the post main game content could prove very challenging for some. The 100% the game achievement doesn’t require all A+ ranks or ‘glitch’ levels to be completed so there is some leeway available.

Brief thoughts: A brilliantly presented old-school platformer with plenty of content to work through. Super Meat Boy also has challenging post game content for a gamer wishing to test their skills. This thoroughly enjoyable experience is complemented by a very fitting soundtrack.

Overall Score: 9.5/10

Nice one mate!

It's nice to be reminded how good some older games are! I keep meaning to pick this up one day, but I need to finish a few other arcade platformers first like N+ for example!

N+ plus is another great XBLA platformer. I prefer SMB due to how fast paced it is in comparison, also I curse N+ for multiplayer achievements Razz
