List games that would be viable for competition purposes

Any racer with a time trial is always good.

How about Crackdown 2 time trials races?
Or Crackdown 2 multiplayer?

We did run a FIFA comp before but it needs to be a cup as the league fell apart because when people lost and could no longer win they stopped completing there fixtures.

Anything with a high score table could be incorporated.

What about sing a certain song on Lips?

Some arcade games have high score tables too - Geometry Wars 1 and 2 and Pacman CE spring to mind (not just because I fancy my chances at those games).

Any game that records lap times would be easy enough to use as you could do it whenever you had the free time.
I'm only picking games I've got so excuse the slight selfish bias,
Gears 2, Horde challenge, group of players, 5 being preferable, but however many is available, Horde time trial, see which group can get to and finish wave 10 in the shortest time.
Guitar Hero or Rock Band games, either single player or band challenges.
Unreal 3, plain simple deathmatch, winner takes all
Red Dead, time trials again for teams doing either gang hideouts or co-op missions.
Burnout revenge, either racing or crashing in multiplayer.

I seem to have picked mostly team based efforts not single player ones, sorry about that

like the sugestion of red dead would be good as its up to 16 players aswell. private free for all match would be a laugh
