Crackdown 2 (the first 5 hours)
Well after playing the original to death back years ago, I have been waiting for this baby to hit the shelfs.
I remember clearly thinking after beating Clack 1 that I wish they would just make more of this.....
Ruffian have made my wishes come true!
This is the first game but with slightly better controls and a whole lot more of the Controllers voiceovers which for me were a highlight of the first game.
I have set up a coop game that my friend and I are playing through and a single player game just for me. The fact that your stats carry on through both is brilliant.
I played 5 hours of coop and 2 hours of single player at the weekend and it seemed like only minutes. I was totally engrossed. Its become my favourite 360 game ever.
Setting it in the original city (an idea similar to the great Saints Row series) is genius as you see all the places you loved and jumped around before, but now in their run down and destroyed state. Not only does it bring back memories of the first game, but its also shocking to see the destruction. Best part of using the same place again though is that experienced players will know their way around.
The whole thing has a cell shaded look and its functional graphically rather than spectacular, but some of the events that happen and some of the stunts you can pull off elevate this title to the very top of the fun gaming ladder.
Initially I was frustrated at not having max superpowers as at the end of Clack 1, but having to get all my skillz back is part of the enjoyment and that word sums up the entire game.
So some reviewers are knocking it for being almost the same as the original. Well as I loved the first game and I could not have asked for anything more.
10 GOTO SHOPS
20 BUY CLACK 2
30 RUN
40 PLAY
now!!

Re: Crackdown 2 (the first 5 hours)
Have some rep sir
This isn't a game that takes itself seriously. It isn't designed to play like a story, yes it has one, but the emphasis isn't on finishing it as soon as you can like most games nowadays. It's to have fun, and this is another of the few games that i will be keeping even after completion.

Same for me, i've got a self imposed game buying ban for the time being.

Re: Crackdown 2 (the first 5 hours)
I agree with Everton, totally love it.
I have now finished the main story line and just have 3 freak breaches and about 70 orbs to collect.
My review should go up tonight or tomorrow finally

Re: Crackdown 2 (the first 5 hours)
I have racked up about 20hours over the weekend. Finished the main story and collected the 500 agilty orbs. Gonna concentrate on the hidden orbs tonight and closing the rest of the freak breaches.
It goes without saying I love this game. Probably my fav this year so far.

LOVE this game! Not got much time in yet because I've had a bad eye last few days so trying not to over do it BUT so far loving it!
Got about 63 hidden orbs (long way to go) 160 agility orbs, closed one freak breach, taken over 5 gang locations...
Mainly I've been arsing around collectiong orbs, driving freaks over, smashing bad guys and jumping every where!

Re: Crackdown 2 (the first 5 hours)
I loved Crackdown 1 (all 1250 gamerscore of it) and I'm enjoying this but I'll throw out a question to you all.
After a couple of hour's play did anyone think that maybe they'd seen everything the game had to offer.
It feels very limited in terms of mission types and things to do. On top of that it's basically the first game but not as pretty.
I'm liking it but I'm feeling a bit Just Cause 2 about (movement nice, game structure completely absent). A good game but not a great one.

Re: Crackdown 2 (the first 5 hours)
I will admit it can get a bit samey... but it's one of the few games where that dosn't bother me. I can just run around for hours, killing some things, collecting some orbs, causing mayhem, rinse wash and repeat. I quite enjoy it

Re: Crackdown 2 (the first 5 hours)
Im loving this game :-)
Got about 220 hidden orbs, and 480 of the agility orbs.. and about 70% of the game done? something like that... Still struggling with getting used to the wing suit.
