Square Enix (new owners of Eidos) have announced that they will be publishing a Game of the Year edition for Batman: Arkham Asylum which will include six new Challenge Maps and "TriOviz 3D" support for a complete 3D experience. The game will be bundled with a pair of 3D glasses to enjoy this "innovative new technology" for a "more immersive gaming experience."
The Batman: Arkham Asylum "Game of the Year" edition will be coming to Europe on March 26th with no confirmed North American release date just yet. It will also be coming to Games for Windows Live, and both versions will have a fresh set of achievements. With the existing PC release, a Japanese release and these two new releases, that is now five total versions of Arkham to explore for the truly dedicated achievement whores out there.
Original article here folks.

All new achievements?
If this is cheap, I may trade in the original and get this one.

This is certainly going to be interesting. I wonder how many more games will go 3D.

Avatar was 3D but they didnt do a very good job of telling anyone. Or realising that the average gamer hadnt spent £10k on their TV At least the Batman GOTY edition will be accessible in its use of 3D technologyMrs Mad Ronin wrote:This is certainly going to be interesting. So.. Just to be clear, is this 3d as in the old red and blue style, or 3d as in "I need a stupidly expensive TV to play it"? and for that matter is it a option you can turn off/on?
I wanted to get this game, but if theres a better edition coming out then I might wait for that..

Today, March 26th, marks the launch of the Batman Arkham Asylum Game of the Year Edition in all European and PAL territories, featuring plenty of bonuses for those who haven't yet jumped into the dark world of the game's setting.
The GOTY edition features all six downloadable challenge packs as well as the addition of "TriOviz 3D" to the console versions. This is a new functionality that allows the game to played in 3D on High-Def TVs, apparently adding "a far more immersive gaming experience."
Not a bad deal for those of you still looking to take this Dark Knight for a spin through the asylum.

the game comes with two sets of old style 3D glasses so no fancy TV required. Haven't had chance to try it out yet but the box is nice and fancyCyber_zombi wrote:So..
