Xbox One Review
Divinity Original Sin has come to Xbox One from the slightly cult classic PC version (also available now on PS4). Larian studies have stayed faithfull to the successful PC version of the game that is a classic styled turn based rpg with some subtle innovations. Whilst this would not be the type of game we would expect to see on consoles it does well to make the transition.
You begin by creating two heroes before beginning your journey, these heroes have the title of source hunters (source being a kind of evil magic power). You're sent as a team to investigate a mysterious murder in town. The plot is not one of the best things about the game neither is the pace of the game the first several hours are spent learning about your characters, environment and talking to people. Almost like a very slow paced extra long tutorial. However things do begin to pick up.
One of the things I enjoyed about the game is the character morality and consequences. You can walk into a town steal from the locals and starts fights but there are slight consequences even if they are subtle ones.
The in game combat system works well as a classic turn based combat with hints of elemental effects such as earth, wind, fire and air. Hit an enemy who is standing in a puddle of oil with a flame arrow is real fun. Whilst the system does work it is quite cumbersome and not the most user friendly at times. There were times when the control system and awful camera angles almost got the better of me. However for those willing to persevere there is a lot of enjoyment to be taken from this game. Graphics are really good, music is atmospheric and complementary to gameplay, the option to play split screen co op is a great feature and unlike the pc version all dialogue is now acted by ncp's even if there are some questionable accents.
A fun aspect of the game came at one point when my two characters disagreed the desicive factor being a classic game of rock, paper, scissors to decide the outcome.
Good times -
Awesome graphics.
Great sound.
Co op feature.
Excellent game longevity
Bad times -
Slow gameplay at the beginning.
Bad gamer angles.
Cumbersome controls and menus.
Whilst I found Divinity Original Sin a very slow starter it did have a lot of good points that makes it worth persevering with. I award it 8 out of 10.

Nice review Lethal. The game didn't look too bad from what I saw of your stream.

Nice review there LethalThreat74. I saw this for £25 the other day. Was tempting to get it. It is my fault but I got told off by the top boss when I ask what the game is like in his "deals with gold" post lol. I do like the sound if the elements in it. Remind me a bit like Eternal Sonata with the light and shadow. Well I better apologise before I get told of more lol. Good review and thanks.
