Rare Replay First Impressions
So Rare Replay has now released on Xbox One and I had a brief time with it last night before heading to bed here are my first impressions:
The presentation is perfect with the off beat humour that Rare are known for, it is presented as a theatre production with the cast of the 30 games present in the collection as the actors in a very Muppets style production including the intro song that serves as the attract mode for this game. Alongside the numerous games included in the collection Rare have also put together a documentary about the games and working at Rare, this has been split into chapters which you unlock in the games by completing milestones which range from playing the game to beating all levels and getting high scores. The presentation is a breath of fresh air against other recently released collections and sets a new standard for this type of game.
With the older games in the collection Rare have also included Snapshots which are essentially iconic sections of the games and made them into challenges that you can compete in against your friends.
So far I have to say that the Rare Replay is well worth the £20 for anyone who likes retro gaming or would just like to experience the evolution of gaming over the past 30 years.

Nice one. Sounds good. I like the idea of challenges featuring sections of the older games.

I've been playing it throughout today. Absolutely loving it at the moment, especially as there are some great Speccy games in there. I can see meputting a lot of hours into this as its a great pick up and play game for killing a few minutes here and there!
