Incoming - Dead Space 3
Just got my confirmation of bank charge form Shopto today & my Dead Space 3 is on it's way!!!
I've been playing through the first on easy just to get a quick run through the story, hopefully cram in 2 before 3 arrives ina few days.
Dead Space has been one of my favourite titles on the 360, it's pretty linear & you can't really go wrong when you have that laser guide to lead you along.
But turn the lights off, crank up the Turtle Beaches & just get on with it & you have a creeeeeepy game going on. Voices in the darkness, creatures leaping at you from darkened corners & all in the futuristic sci-fi setting. It's like ALien meets The Evil Dead.
The games come thick & fast over the next few weeks, this, Aliens Colonial Marines & Bioshock Infinite!
Who else is buying?

Re: Incoming - Dead Space 3
I'll get it when it comes down in price, I loved the first 2 games but I'm not too sure about this one, nothing I've seen so far has really got my excited about it.

This.
The first one is one of my favourite Xbox games, but the second one was a bit of a let down to me. I'll pick this one up in a few weeks when it's a bit cheaper.
I would much rather have seen Visceral go back and do a follow up to Dante's Inferno.

Re: Incoming - Dead Space 3
Early reviews suggest its a really hard and grindy 1000 and the worst of the 3 so far and lacks a dead space feel.

I got this off of Shopto's twitter earlier :
Eurogamer - 7/10
Edge - 7/10
CVG - 7.3/10
IGN - 7.8/10
Joystiq - 4.5/5
OXM - 7/10
Polygon - 9.5/10
StickTwiddlers - 3/5
VideoGamer - 5/10
Seems to suggest a largely positive reaction to the game. This is a bit more balanced though : CVG NEWS
That link suggests theres a few people less than happy with the direction it's taking. I only had a 5 minute bout on the demo, just to see how they'd changed it. Didn't feel like a great deal had been changed. Still I'll find out in a few days.
Re: Incoming - Dead Space 3
EA's press release is hilarious. Saying the game is launching to an average score of 91.

Re: Incoming - Dead Space 3
I was in stitches after reading only the first line.
"Dead Space 3 Launches Today to Global Critical Acclaim – Heralded as One of the Best Games of This Generation"

Re: Incoming - Dead Space 3
From the reviews and playing the demo, it looks like they've gone down the action adventure route. It's a shame, as there's already enough of that and now hardly any survival horror.

Re: Incoming - Dead Space 3
The graphics are stunning but I'm finding it so damn boring. I've spent about 70% of the game just opening doors and climbing ladders. Why do they always make the animations so slow? When I'm not doing that I'm usually walking around trying to find a button. Then as soon as ive found said button off I go again opening more doors and climbing more ladders in search of another button. All while occasionally shooting one enemy a billion times with the same gun I had in DS 1&2.

I love this review.
EA don't me review copies anymore, I will email them Lucky's review now
Re: Incoming - Dead Space 3
Glad Ive still got Dead Space 2 to get through. That EA press release is comedy gold, three obscure foreign reviews and a kiss arse US review... might as well have put 'EA says EA's new game is the best thing ever'. You should send them Leigh's review most honest thing I've read yet

from what i hear its the easiest dead space as theres a glitch to get infinite ammo making the game a cake walk.
