Band of bugs - mini review Bandofbugsbanner

Name of Game: Band of Bugs

Price: 800MSP

Style of Game: Tactical-RPG

Gameplay: Band of Bugs is a game with a simple tactical RPG system in place. The player controls a team of around of 4 (most of the time) characters with standard classes such as all-rounder ( your avatar) mage, healer, long range etc.

Graphics: Nothing special here, graphics are plain character models on bland map textures. Though the graphics aren't great, they aren't terrible either.

Sound: Again nothing special in the sound department, in fact it would probably be best to listen to your own music whilst playing.

Difficulty: A very simple game that would make a great first step for people who wish to try out the genre but might feel intimidated by the other offerings on 360 such as Record of Agarest War. It is also very short in comparison to many games in this genre so allows people to get a quick idea of whether or not they would like to invest time into much larger and more complex games like the Agarest or Disgaea series.

Achievements: All base game achievements are very easy and should be easily attained within a few hours by the majority of gamers. There are 2 DLC pack campaigns available with achievements which I haven't completed at this time, however I imagine the difficulty to be similar to the base game and thus should pose little challenge.

Conclusion: Not a very good game or a very bad game. Certainly not worth going out of your way to try but I feel for anyone interested in the genre but hasn't played before it's perfect for an introductory purpose and a quick, easy completion.

Overall Score: 5/10

Good review chap. I'm not a fan of tactical RPGS so probably one to miss for me.

I'm playing this as part of my road to no 1. I've not touched it too much but been enjoying Vandal Hearts which is a similar style of gameplay.

Going to get round to Vandal Hearts at some point. I really enjoyed the old Vandal Hearts games on PS1 so hoping i'll like the XBLA one
