Majin and the Foreskin Kingdom
Majin and the Foreskin Kingdom
A Namco Bandai game
Its a basic adventure sort of title that sees you play a young thief setting out to rid the world of The Darkness (not that shite mock rock band sadly, but standard fare baddies).
To do this you are thrown together with some beast who looks a bit like my bird. This Majin was an old guardian or something and you both interact to save the day in and Ico like stylee.
The game is divided into lots of mini areas in which your basic task is to kill the enemy, and collect the goodies which in turn powers you up and restores the might of the Majin. Some parts of each level require you to solve puzzles to reach sections.
Its a totally unoriginal collection of ideas, but its all rather pleasant. The combat and the jumping are not brilliant and the cut scenes are long and mostly cannot be skipped, but its all done at a relaxing pace and I am enjoying the atmosphere.
The puzzles are all pretty simple but tax your brain just enough in places to give you a feeling of satisfaction for solving them. The game would be very dull if you used any form of guide though.
What sets it apart is the sheer amount of collectibles needed, however each section on the map shows you how many there are in that area and they are all normally easily spotted, so again no need for a guide. (One exception to this is the very first part before you leave the castle and you must make sure you get all of the chests there first time as its the only portion of the game you cannot return to later).
So being open and easy and enjoyable its certainly worth a play
The ach are all single player and all obtainable by making sure you have bagged everything before the final boss.
Its not childs play but it wont have you chucking the controller either.
The sound bytes are probably its worst point as there seem to be only a few phrases which are repeated quite often and the Majin speaks like the Sugar Puffs Honey Monster on vallium.
Its not badly drawn and the controls are fine although you might find yourself feeding thehorse Majin quite alot as the button for feed and the button for run are the same bar holding down a trigger.
Its standard stuff and so I would give it a standard sort of 6/10

I'm surprised, I was expecting you to cane this into the ground but you actually seemed to enjoy it which is handy as I've been meaning to play this for awhile now!
