Peter Molyneux Has Left Lionhead

He has just issued this statement:


“It is with mixed emotions that I made the decision to leave Microsoft and Lionhead Studios, the company that I co-founded in 1997, at the conclusion of development of Fable: The Journey.

I remain extremely passionate and proud of the people, products and experiences that we created, from Black & White to Fable to our pioneering work with Milo and Kate for the Kinect platform. However, I felt the time was right to pursue a new independent venture. I’d like to thank the team at Lionhead, as well as our partners at Microsoft Studios for their support, dedication and incredible work over the years.”

It'll be good to see him work on a new IP again. Something that isn't Fable anyway.

bet he starts another company and makes another fable type game

Then he can sell his new company to the highest bidder again

I am hoping it's a case of a creative person getting sick of being a one brand money machine for Microsoft :/

A true icon of the gaming world but for me he never bettered the original Populous on the miggy

That was revolutionary whereas all his other stuff has been a collection of ideas either badly or brilliantly put together but never really finished

Lets hope he comes back stronger with something new

Wonder if Milo is sitting inside his Kinect wondering if he is for the chop now Daddy has gone

I'm glad to see hes not retiring completely, he is a true industry great and a great example of British eccentricity and gaming!!
