New years resolutions for gaming.
So what are your gaming New Years resolutions guys?
Here are mine:
1. Improve time management to fit in more and longer gaming sessions.
I've already made a start on this one really, but there's plenty of room for improvement. I've found that If I get on with chores and showering and college work straight after work instead of faffing about with a brew and checking the computer, then I can get sorted out a lot faster. Then hopefully, I can join in more online meetups.
2. Worry less about gamerscore and achievements.
This will be the same for many of you i'm sure, but next year i'm gonna play for fun more and points less, and get through some of my old previous gen stuff that needs finishing! Also, i'm not buying any more £4 tat that makes me feel violent because of it's shiteness!

Re: New years resolutions for gaming.
Mine are similar to yours Colne,
1. Clear my backlog.
I've got so many games 90% complete or not even started I'm just going to concentrte on clearing some of these at last.
2. Play online more often.
It's all fun and games playing SP but I miss cursing and laughing at stupid things that happen when play with mates so hopefully get some more MP gaming in next year.
3. Become no. 1 Role playing scorer in England on TA.
This is a bit of a crazy one but I'm aiming for the no 1 spot. I'm currently 586th but I reckon I can do it, as there's only about 30 odd games in it. Apart from my love of RPG's, I boost often with Ellusion No whose currently no 1 in Europe so I need to catch up and give him a run for his money. Hence why I also want to play more MP or all the RPg's will drive me round the bend!!

Re: New years resolutions for gaming.
I have recently decided myself to only play games for fun and stop all whoring and grinding.
So will continue with this into the new year.
I am loving playing FM still and will probably not tire until WHU finally win the Prem League and Champions league double
Also not going to buy any new games or even discounted DLC unless I plan on playing it straight away.
Cheap games and DLC just pile up on titles I never play.
My love for gaming is higher than ever since I made the change to only play for enjoyment

Re: New years resolutions for gaming.
I need to actually play some of the 50+ arcade games I have bought and never played.
I also need to play some of the JRPG's I keep buying and never playing.

Re: New years resolutions for gaming.
Mine is to not play xbox at all . Maybe for an hour on the odd evening when I'm at home.
I need to get a full time permanent job, learn to drive, get a new flat, all this year. Gaming just distracts me from the more important things in life. So once I have all that on track I'll get back into it. But i have to put life goals ahead of gaming goals for a while.

I agree with you mate. Your still very young and should be travelling the world having new experiences and living a fun life.
My advice too you would be too get a working visa in Australia for a year or go work in the USA for a year. You should do it while you can as soon house, job and kids etc get in peoples way and spoil all the fun
I would be far less happy with my life now if I didn't have all my travelling experiences too look back on.
They mean I know what life is like in other countries and make me appreciate more what we have here in GREAT Britain.
Keep us updated dude, good luck, pack condoms

Re: New years resolutions for gaming.
Mine is to buy less cheap games, and try and clear the backlog of some of the games i've got.
Its always a difficult one, especially with so many discounted games around at the moment.
My main resolution this year though is to get myself fitter, and lose some more weight. I did reasonably well last year losing nearly 2 stone, unfortunately with a late holiday and the xmas excess, this has slipped. Although i still weigh a stone less than last xmas.
Last year i said i was gonna enter a charity cycle ride (100kms) it never happened. But this year i am gonna do something. Just waiting for confirmation that i'm not working that weekend, then i'll be sending in the entry forms. Otherwise i'm going to have to find a different event. There are plenty throughout the year, but a lot of them mean travelling further before and after. Don't think i'll want a long drive after cycling 60+ miles.

Re: New years resolutions for gaming.
I'm going to focus less on scorewhoring and more on just playing. I've still set myself a couple of targets over on TA, but I think they're realistic even if I don't focus on them too much.....and those goals are....
100 arcade completions (I'm on 70 right now) and a gamerscore of 200,000. I was aiming for 150,000 by the end of 2011 but that ain't happening now.
Outside of gaming, I'm going to be looking for a new job and trying to get fit.

Re: New years resolutions for gaming.
Well i am the same as most people, play games that i enjoy rather than easy points games, that means i can play the Old Republic on the pc and not feel bad because it has no achievements.
The exception to the rule is Cloudy with A Chance Of Meatballs which i bought ages ago and have not played yet.
Must also post here more often.
Must also host a few game nights.
Last but not least....must get out with Mr Hammer for a few beers again and claim my long lost Left 4 Dead t shirt.

Re: New years resolutions for gaming.
Mine is to try and remain focused on games and get them completed before moving onto new ones, its nice to have a variety of games to suit your mood but too often I'll get 60% through a game and be loving it and then get sidetracked by a new release and do the same with that, so more focus!
