GSA Olympics!

The real one will be upon us before we know it and I thought how about our own gaming version?

Everyone who wants to take part get's picked randomly to represent a country, depending on numbers we would hopefully have teams of people for each country, not just single players. We don't need to include every country as there's probably more participating countries then there are members on here.
Once we've got our teams/countries decided we then choose who from each team will represent that team in which specific event, also it would depend on who's got what game too. Medals would be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places and we'd have our own medal table.
Track and field - Well, an obvious choice would be a racing game.
Shooting events - Fairly obvious again here.
If we could manage to get each team to have at least one member with a Kinect and Kinect Sports we could do actual Olympic events to give it more of an authentic feel.
We don't have to stick to the traditional athletic events either as that would narrow our options of what to play. We could have any type of game, music game, RTS game even quiz games. So long as it has multiplayer it could be included as an event.


Sorry if this doesn't make sense as I seem to be having trouble conveying into words what I'm thinking

I like the idea as well, I'll definitely get involved if I've got the games.

The games can be sorted out once we know how many people are taking part.
Any game could be included, we could have a Fight Night game for authentic boxing or a Street Fighter game if not enough people have Fight Night.
Red Dead could somehow be our Equestrian event game, though no idea as yet how we'd do that but the possibilities are almost endless.

As long as doesn't involve any running I'm interested lol. Your on fire today with those ideas of yours

Nice to see a lot of interest. Probably best to leave the actual choosing of players and their countries till after Christmas as we don't need any more distractions during the festive period. Plus it'll give me plenty of time to fine tune the idea.
If anyone else has any ideas about games/events or anything else then please don't keep them to yourself.

Aye I'd be up for this, I did think of a rather complicated Red Dead based event with a Harm's Way twist. Basically split into two's and race from along a set route via checkpoints on horses, your team mate is allowed to hide along the course and plan ambushes for the players, liek setting up carriages in the way and finding a good sniping point. i may have to try and test this out with some practice runs, see hwo it works

Just an idea, but Fable III could be good for a multi-event game. Have the mortar event, A set course for hack n slash, shooting, and magic kills. Maybe even number of ''lovers'' gained.

You could either do them separately at the same time, or give a time limit for each thing to be done.

As I am a paralympian myself for Wheelchair Tennis then I am in!

I will also be volunteering at the Olympics and Paralympics next year as part of the technology team doing statistics and the scoreboard!

There are actually races to do (think there might be a 4 player limit) although, you may want to stipulate no shooting each other!

I'm well up for it if you do this although i dont have kinect (yet!)
