GTA Online Heists - 4.8GB Update Live for Some Players

GTA Online Heists officially launch tomorrow, but some players are reporting receiving the update early. According to images and tweets, the update weighs in at an eye-watering 4.8GB on Xbox One and 1.2GB on Xbox 360.

The GTA Online Heists update contains five Heists to carry out with up to three friends, all of which are made up of multiple missions. You’ll be robbing banks, performing jailbreaks, stealing jets and all sorts. It looks like great fun and you can read an exhaustive rundown of what to expect through here.

In addition to this the update also adds a range of new vehicles, masks and outfits, as well as Freemode activities, Adversary Modes and Daily Objectives.

There’s new achievements too! There’s nine of them, offering up a total of 250 Gamerscore. I won’t detail them here in case anyone is concerned about getting spoiled.

And Microsoft thought that a non removable 500GB hard drive was enough for this Gen

I'm kinda surprised that it took this long for Rockstar to get round to this update though it was always the main thing missing from the GTA Online experience

Its all about cost, bigger drive mean more cost.

At least they let us add a 4TB drive ourselves, that's what I have done.

On PS4 you would need to replace the drive so that's even worse

I get that, still though the cost difference when buying in bulk of a 1TB HDD to a 500GB HDD is negligible. I think the real reason is they are looking at the numbers of the average 360 user and basing the HDD size on that without taking into account of Forced installs of games that are significantly larger this gen and no limits on Update size that they had on the 360 (a few large updates had to be released as free DLC due to this limit).

Oh and the max External drive size is 16TB I believe and that is one of the best things Microsoft has done this gen

They could of at least made it possible to remove and replace the HDDs with larger capacity drives. I haven't bought an external drive yet, as i just don't like the idea of having to have something plugged in and powered up all the time. Although I know I'll have to get one eventually. Hopefully the longer I wait the cheaper they will be too.

I'm sure the size of the bone's drive was very carefully considered. There's always an agenda to these things. Whether it be making as much wonga as possible out of us down the line or gently shoving consumers down a particular path such as encouraging cloud use as some think, they will have their reasons. I think the 500 GB drive was probably the smallest acceptable drive they could release at the time the console was launched. It was an acceptable size at the time considering where the market was then and allowed them room to increase the size for future new and improved models.

We have just got a 4 TB drive and only have it on when we want to access the games on it. We have it next to an easy on off socket and no issues. Takes about 30 seconds for the xbox to find it. We have kept about 4 games on the xbox, everything else is on the EXT HD

Looking forward to these heists as I've been enjoying GTA V online lately. Anyone else going to be playing this.

if you get the usb powered 2.5inch ext drives then you don't have to worry about them remaining powered up as it will turn off with the bone

Most of the usual suspects do a nice 2tb model

I agree its a shame you cannot just pop in a new disc like with the ps3 and 4 but 2tb should keep you going for a few years

I should be up for this at the weekend as well.

I will definitely be available on Sunday afternoon, might be available for a little while on Saturday but plan on doing some Evolve.
