Halo: Spartan Strike is the Spiritual Sequel to Spartan Assault

Microsoft has announced Halo: Spartan Strike, a top-down shooter set in the Halo universe for Windows 8 tablets and smartphones, as well as Windows PC.
Pitched as the “spiritual successor” to Halo: Spartan Assault, Spartan Strike is set during the events of Halo 2 and promises improved controls, new abilities, new enemies (prometheans) and new vehicles stretched across 30 missions.
Vanguard Games is developing and yup, it’ll have Achievements.
Halo: Spartan Strike is due to release on December 12th for $5.99. No word yet on whether it’ll get a console release, but if Spartan Assault is anything to go by, it seems likely. I've slapped IGN's video below.

Spartan assault doesn't deserve a spiritual successor as it was wank.

Much as I love my Halo but I agree with Markav. I thought the first one was pretty poor.

I like the first one as it really reminded me of command and conquer and I loved the older ps1 style games
