Xbox Fitness
So I've been exploring my Xbone and finding what I can do for free (it seems a fair amount of free content actually!). Recently I've been trying to get a bit healthier too and I thought I'd give Xbox Fitness a try. And after one session its certainly a lot better than the Ubisoft Your Shape games.
Firstly, the new Kinect is a huge improvement on the last. I'm 6ft and I struggled to find room to do anything with the old one. This time its much easier which is handy as the workouts are more diverse than on the previous Xbox. Plus there are tons of them and all currently free with Gold. You've got big name ones like Insanity and the one I've started being MOSSA. They track your movements much better and you constantly get little challenges to see how you do against the average and friends too (Gambler6464 is a bit of a fitness freak I think).
Just wondering if anyone else has had an explore of this yet?

Re: Xbox Fitness
I've tried a couple of workouts and they were pretty tough going.
I have been wondering about doing some of the core strengthening ones though, as they would benefit my cycling.

Re: Xbox Fitness
I think its quite good. I started using it but I've been injured for a good couple of months so I'm on hiatus. Hopefully get back on it soon. I found the kinect sometimes struggled to register my movements when doing lying down things though, which affected my score. but that could have been my positioning. I will hopefully iron out that issue if i can get back on it regularly.
I did notice though that you can totally blag some of the workouts by just doing star jumps. On the plus side though, it does a good job of detecting movement speed and effort. It knows when you are punching faster and with more effort for example. It's a great tool in my opinion.
As a martial artist, I've wondered how the kinect could potentially be for practicing good form and technique. A program like that would probably be a bit too niche to be sell on the xbox platform but its an interesting concept using the kinect for coaching in sports or dancing

Re: Xbox Fitness
I enjoy it i use it about 2-3 times a week. Its simple to use ,loads of choices and tracks pretty well it also saves me money not going to the gym.If you want to test your fitness try the insanity workout i struggled getting past the warm up.

Re: Xbox Fitness
I used it a couple of times and it was hard work, I've moved my tv now though which has rendered kinect useless

Re: Xbox Fitness
I dont think theres a way of searching what type of training it is but if you click into one it tells you what genre it is.I personally start with a strength workout at the beginning of the week then cardio the rest of the week but depends on what you goals are.I would stick to the mossa workouts to begin with mossa fight 1 or 2 for cardio and mossa power 1 or 2 for strength training.
