Hololens Minecraft

Post  KENT HAMMER on Mon Jun 15, 2015 8:04 pm

Live on stage during Microsoft’s E3 2015 media briefing, the platform holder has just shown off how Minecraft works with its augmented reality system, HoloLens.

At one point during the demo, Microsoft showed a Minecraft world rising up out of a table. Viewable through the HoloLens headset it’s possible to zoom in and out of the world, going right up close to players or right out to view large swathes of the environment from a bird's eye view.

You can even raise the world up and look at what’s beneath the ground, exposing huge caverns and stuff. There’s voice commands too, which let you interact with the world. At one point the demo-er called down lightning strikes. It’s seriously impressive.

See, it looks cool as hell, but I can't think of any actual gaming application that would make it worthwhile.

Kinda like the Kinect, thinking about it.

That is utter phenomenal, it would probably be so much more use in the work place environment than in gaming though
