Tenlo's XBLA Bragging Contest - The Rules
With the comp starting tomorrow I thought I'd draft a few rules so people know what to expect.
1. The contest will start at 12.01am 1st April 2013.
2. All contestants must be entered in this leaderboard to allow me to track you. If you remove yourself and I can't track you your score will be forfeit!
3. I will be recording down everyone's XBLA score and achievements between 10.30pm and 12am. These will be your official starting scores.
4. All games which are included in the Arcade game section of TA are included. This does include WP games and Windows 8 games which are classed as Arcade games by TA. Yes, this means not all the games included are actually part of XBLA, but I don't have the time to check which ones are officially XBLA and which are other platforms, my apologies if this is a problem.
5. The contest will end April 30th at 11.59pm. I will record everyones score after midnight so make sure your TA score is up-to-date before then.
6. Prizes as such are pure bragging rights. Members of GSA have volunteered prizes and once I have spoken to them, I shall let you know what is on offer. I will be also trying to get some stuff from publishers too, again I will update with news as I receive them.
7. Categories for winning will include most achievements, GS and completions and vice-versa for least amount of the same! There will also be random winners of special events as and when I think of them to keep things interesting.
8. The eighth rule of Tenlo's XBLA Bragging Contest is we don't talk about Tenlo's XBLA Bragging Contest.
9. The ninth rule is that the previous rule is a lie!
10. Enjoy and have fun and clear that backlog.
11. Completed games will only count if DLC is included. If you have all available achievements then it is 100%, if you don't have the DLC it doesn't count. This also counts for Walking Dead. If you have all the achievements it counts as 1 completion, if you don't it doesn't count as a completion.

11th rule added to clarify any confusion about completions regarding games. The main reason for this is ease on my part on figuring out how many completions have been done.

Re: Tenlo's XBLA Bragging Contest - The Rules
Wow that seems harsh.
So not worth buying or playing any games with dlc unless your willing to buy the dlc too and complete that
May as well just send tenlo, Graham, gambler and bawhawhaw prize game today

Re: Tenlo's XBLA Bragging Contest - The Rules
I see your point but it only affects one category which is the completed game category. As there are categorys for total GS and total achievements too. I't more of a logistic thing. I'd have to go and check every single game and work out which are completed without the DLC and which are.
To be fair there are very few titles on XBLA which come with DLC so it's not that big a problem. The majority of titles just have their original score. So in fact you could probably complete more games than others without having to worry if they have DLC

Re: Tenlo's XBLA Bragging Contest - The Rules
As I'm waiting to go down the police station in a sec (which is a whole different story) I just checked there are roughly 70 titles on TA which have DLC from what I can gather out of over 1000 titles, so you should be safe !!! I actually thought there might have been more but I did exclude all the Rock band tracks which were included in Arcade for some reason!

Also, XBLA DLC is usually very cheap too, so it's not as bad as if this were a retail competition.

Re: Tenlo's XBLA Bragging Contest - The Rules
A point that has been raised by a couple of people I'd like to see what people's opinions are. Originally this contest was designed to last for the whole of April. Is this too long in some people's opinions and would it be better to be a two week contest instead? If enough people want to change I'm more than happy to change the length if preferred?

I don't mind either way. Although, I did like the idea of April being an 'XBLA month'

Me to. I know I'm not going to come anywhere in this comp, I just like the idea of a community event for April. With Bassett's 'Four in February' I reckon we should try to organise a community event every other month?

Re: Tenlo's XBLA Bragging Contest - The Rules
I too like the idea of "XBLA month". A month is good if you ask me. It gives us a chance to participate without having to frantically try and fit in some gaming time around other commitments.
One point I would like to mention though is that although I'm participating solely for the fun and to support Tenners, I do think that in future, phone games should be excluded for the sake of a level playing field. Just saying like. I'm not here to compete but, if there are prizes up for grabs then it's only fair IMO. That's not a protest, just an opinion.
But the important thing is to view these as events that we can all participate in and talk about I guess....Hats off to Tenners in advance for trawling through all our cheevs for a month!

Re: Tenlo's XBLA Bragging Contest - The Rules
I'm completely digging the bi monthly events. Now just to think of some!! (you guys make me earn my mod badge!!)
As for Windows Phones that's a fairpoint as it does give certain advantages to people. The whole of the contest has literally been put together in a few days so there is going to be rough edges about. With more planning I could probably have made it a lot smoother but after this event, we've got a month to plan another one so it should be a smoother process.
